The Northumberland Fare Share Food Bank gratefully accepts your donations of non-perishable foods and necessities. Here is a sample of some of the items we like to receive:

  • Canned fruits & vegetables
  • Canned meat and fish
  • Canned beans
  • Granola bars
  • Jello
  • Pudding cups
  • Stews and soups (canned or powdered)
  • Pasta and pasta sauce
  • Macaroni & cheese
  • Rice
  • Cereals (hot & cold)
  • Pancake mix & syrup
  • Peanut butter
  • Jam & honey
  • Condiments
  • Powdered milk
  • Canned juice
  • Baby formula
  • Toilet tissue
  • Sealed packages of diapers
  • Shampoo
  • Toothpaste & toothbrushes

Fare Share makes meat, produce, eggs, frozen vegetables and entrées available when possible. We are able to accept large-volume donations of these fresh products at this time — however, we have limited storage facilities at the food bank, so most of the fresh produce goes into our limited-capacity refrigeration units, with frozen product going into our larger-capacity freezer.

Please call the Cobourg office for more information – 905-372-5308 – during office hours.

On special occasions like Thanksgiving, Easter and Christmas, we try to distribute chicken, ham, hamburger and fresh milk. You can contribute! If you would like to find out how and when you can donate any of these items, we invite you to contact management during office hours.

Please remember that you can always make a financial contribution in lieu of food or goods. Fare Share volunteers purchase products on-sale from local shops to ensure we stock the food bank with the greatest quantity of goods for the lowest possible cost.
